Special Programme On Entrepreneurship

Graduate Entrepreneurs Incubation (PIUS)


Provide an integrated programme for graduates who are interested to make entrepreneurship as their career choice and support Government’s aspiration in generating interest and entrepreneurship quality to graduates.


4 main components:

bullet Entrepreneurial training
bullet Mentor-Mentee Programme
bullet Attachment Programme
bullet Counsellor

 

Programme Duration: 3 months and participants must submit their Business Plan at the end of the programme.

Vendor Programme


This programme uses the concept of matchmaking Bumiputera vendor companies with parent/anchor companies (large companies, MNCs, GLCs, etc.) to provide business opportunities and growth to the company's productional operations.

The matchmaking of Bumiputera SMEs involve the following methods:

bullet Internal Matching
  bullet Among the existing customers of the bank
  bullet Vendors and parent/ anchor companies among bank customers
bullet External Matching
  bullet Among the bank customers with large and established companies (eg: MNCs and GLCs)

 

One District One Industry Programme (SDSI)


Adoption of an industry within a district by various government agencies as means to promote and develop rural industries in order to uplift the socio-economic levels of its residents.

SME Bank to act as 'foster parents' to the songket weaving entrepreneurs in the district of Kuala Terengganu.

The objectives of this programme are to :

bullet Provide financing facilities
bullet Develop and improve products
bullet Market and promote products
bullet Execute entrepreneurial guidance and training
bullet Establish vendors
bullet Entrepreneur products as corporate gifts of SME Bank

 

Mentor Programme

bullet Individual guidance and motivational programme.
bullet Successful/ stable entrepreneur individuals/ companies in the market to act as references for new entrepreneurs/ companies.
bullet Aspects of guidance are matters related to the handling and managing of company operations as well as business/ entrepreneurial ethics.
bullet Methods of guidance are direct reference to the entrepreneurs (mentors) or group motivational talk sessions.

 

Attachment Programme

bullet The concept of the programme is the process of preparation and exposure to the new (100% Bumiputera) entrepreneurs (operating less than 3 years).
bullet New customers of SME Bank will be attached to the mentor companies (existing customers of the Bank) for a period not exceeding 1 month.
bullet Exposure and practical training on handling and managing of business operations in the aspects of management/ administrative, technical, accounting/ finance and market/ marketing.

 

Women's Programme


This programme is packaged specifically for women entrepreneurs in the sectors of manufacturing and selected services. Emphasis will be given to the activities towards the development of entrepreneurship as well as offering financial facilities.


The objectives of this programme are to:

bullet Improve the economic status of women in accordance to the aspirations of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
bullet Offer financial assistance to women entrepreneurs who are in need and eligible to the requirements.
bullet Equip and mould entrepreneurial features to women entrepreneurs.
bullet Convey information regarding both financial and non-financial facilities offered by SME Bank.

 

Batik & Crafts Entrepreneur Programme


This programme is for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the batik and handicraft industry by offering financial and non-financial facilities.

The objectives of this programme are to:

bullet Offer financing assistance to Bumiputera batik and handicrafts entrepreneurs.
bullet Equip and mould the entrepreneurial features through seminars, courses and also guidance.
bullet Convey information on both financial and non-financial facilities.
