Chief Internal Auditor
Ismail Kamaruddin graduated from Ohio University, Ohio with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Hons.) with double major in Business and Management. He also obtained Masters of International Business Administration from United States International University, California. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia (AIIA), Member of Malaysia Institute of Management (MMIM) and an Associate Member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB).
Ismail Kamaruddin started his career as a lecturer at the Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam in 1985. He then joined Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad and held various leadership roles in Banking, Operations, Channel Management, Sales & Services and Group Audit, auditing Standard Chartered Bank’s operations across the Asia-Paci c and Africa. He later assumed the position of Director, Business Development at S.K. Agrobase Nursery and Landscape Sdn. Bhd. Subsequently he joined Bank Industri dan Teknologi Malaysia Berhad, which is now known as Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank) to become the Head of Group Operational Risk Management in 2004. He was promoted to Head Risk Management, Head Corporate Management and later as Chief Internal Auditor in 2011.
